The Philadelphia Union announced the signing of Danish defender Japhet Sery Larsen on Tuesdsay.
The 25-year-old arrives on a permanent transfer from Norway's SK Brann.
He is signed through 2028-29 with an option for 2029-30 and will occupy an international roster slot.
'Japhet is a proactive, forward-thinking center back who brings valuable experience from his time competing in the UEFA Europa League,' Union head coach coach Bradley Carnell said. 'His aggressive playing style fits our system well, and we're confident his high soccer IQ and leadership qualities will be valuable assets to the team this season.'Larsen made 98 appearances for SK Brann over the past three seasons and scored four goals. The club posted back-to-back runner-up finishes in the Eliteserien in 2023 and 2024 and won the Norwegian Cup in 2023.
