Veteran first baseman Josh Bell inked a one-year deal with the Minnesota Twins on Friday, joining his seventh different franchise as he enters his 11th season in the big leagues.
The contract includes a mutual option for 2027.
Bell, 33, played for the Washington Nationals for the second time in 2025, hitting 22 home runs and driving in 63 runs, but slumped to a .237 batting average in 140 games.
Bell is currently fourth among active switch-hitters with 676 RBIs and fifth in home runs (193), hits (1,153) and extra-base hits (438).
The Pittsburgh Pirates drafted Bell in the second round of the 2011 MLB First-Year Player draft. He debuted for the Pirates in 2016 and blasted 26 home runs and drove in 90 runs in 2017.
Bell earned All-Star honors as a Pirate in 2019, when he amassed career highs in home runs (37) and RBIs (116).
He captured a Silver Slugger Award in 2022 while splitting time between Washington and San Diego.
Bell has played for Pittsburgh (2016-20), Washington (2021-22, 2025), San Diego (2022), Cleveland (2023), Miami (2024) and Arizona (2024).
He is a career .256 hitter with a .444 slugging percentage and .786 OPS.
