After elevating long snapper Jake McQuaide from the practice squad Sunday, the Los Angeles Rams made the move permanent by signing the veteran to the 53-man roster.
Long snapper Alex Ward was waived to open a roster spot.
McQuaide's insertion was one of two moves the Rams made last week to improve their struggling kicking game. They also signed kicker Harrison Mevis to the practice squad and elevated him for Sunday's 42-26 victory over the San Francisco 49ers.
Mevis made all six of his extra-point attempts in his NFL debut and did not have a field-goal attempt. Regular kicker Joshua Karty was not active Sunday after missing five of his 15 field-goal attempts to start the season.
McQuaide, 37, was the Rams' long snapper for 10 seasons from 2011-20. He also spent time with the Dallas Cowboys, Detroit Lions, Minnesota Vikings and Miami Dolphins and has appeared in 198 career games.
The Rams lost in Week 3 at Philadelphia after they were lined up for a potential game-winning field goal on the final snap.
The Eagles' Jordan Davis blocked Karty's 44-yard attempt with a rush up the middle and returned the block for a touchdown. It was the second kick Los Angeles had blocked in the fourth quarter of the game.
