The St. Louis Cardinals are placing outfielder Alec Burleson on the 10-day injured list with a wrist issue, The Athletic reported Friday.
The team is also calling up catcher Jimmy Crooks and infielder Cesar Prieto from Triple-A Memphis, per the report.
Burleson, 26, missed one game last week with a right wrist injury and was pulled from Thursday's game against the Pittsburgh Pirates with the same injury.
Burleson is batting .286 with 16 homers and 60 RBIs through 122 games this season. He leads the Cardinals with 123 hits.
Crooks, 24, is ranked as the Cardinals' No. 6 prospect by MLB.com and has yet to make his major league debut. He is hitting .274 with 14 homers and 79 RBIs in 98 games this season at Memphis.
Prieto, 26, has not made his MLB debut either. The Venezuelan native is batting .295 with nine homers and 62 RBIs in 107 games this season at Memphis.
