Studies suggest that until the end of this year more than half of all search queries will involve our voice. Strictly speaking, voice may rapidly turn into a major differentiator for big enterprises. Rustam Gilfanov, investor and co-founder of an international IT brand, ruminates on the future and perspectives of voice technologies.
Until recently, users have been texting queries if they needed to find some information in the cyberspace. Most people speak at a pace of 125 to 150 words per minute which is three times faster than the printing speed of an average person. Rustam Gilfanov explains: "It is obvious for me that soon voice technology will conquer the industry of online search since such query method is simpler and more convenient; people feel it more natural for them to speak than to print."
Google statistics shows that 58% of users address to voice search for finding local companies which gives smaller companies such as flower boutiques or small coffee shops a vast variety of new business options. "No doubt that soon the voice SEO marketing will show itself in action. The majority of text queries usually consist of up to three words while the usual length of a voice query is four to six words. Thus, queries made by voice provide more 'clues' which can be used for understanding what customers need," says Rustam Gilfanov. The growing number of enterprises have already incorporated voice search into their digital marketing strategies for establishing efficient communication with customers. As Just AI writes, businesses are turning from scripting chatbots to the ones that use artificial intelligence. It is a strategic solution for businesses focused on customer needs.
Technologies associated with artificial intelligence represent another important factor in voice search promotion. At this point, speech recognition is the basement on which voice search technology and other innovations widely used by people are being built. How can voice assistants make our lives better in the nearest future? Good example is real-time translations from one language to another. We will also be able to enjoy customized solutions that will be based on personal preferences. Artificial voices will sound more like real humans as they will be adapting to the context of conversation and even our mood.
Gilfanov says: "One of the key reasons for people opting for voice search is efficiency." This technology allows people to operate in a multitasking mode something they previously couldn't even imagine. This new capability is already affecting people by generating new behavioral patterns. As an example, in USA many users of devices with voice search technology acquired a new habit of starting each day with asking for a short notice of the day's scheduled meetings and activities.
For me there is no doubt that this year is going to become a turning point in developing voice technology and reshaping end-user digital experience.
