The Milwaukee Brewers signed free-agent infielder Brock Holt on Monday evening, pending a physical, according to published reports.
Terms of the agreement were not immediately available. Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic was the first to report the signing.
Holt, 31, spent the past seven seasons with the Boston Red Sox. He hit .297 with three home runs and 31 RBIs in 87 games last season.
In 639 career games, which included a 24-game stint with the Pittsburgh Pirates as a rookie in 2012, Holt is a .271 hitter with 23 homers, 206 RBIs and 35 stolen bases. He earned an All-Star bid in 2015 with the Red Sox and won a World Series title with the team in 2018.
Holt has played every position except for pitcher and catcher during his career. He has made more starts at second base (196) than any other position, with third base (104 starts) next and left field (84 starts) ranking third.
